President & Founder
Brian Krieg is the founder and president of FocusPoint Communications, a proudly Native American, minority owned business. His history runs deep, with over 40 years of experience in policy and marketing. Brian has held a variety of positions in private industry and in state and federal government, which have informed his success at FocusPoint Communications. He knows the Oregon political landscape well: He was born and raised in Oregon and graduated from Willamette University with degrees in political science and public policy. He knows all the corners of the Oregon State Legislature as he began by serving as a Legislative Assistant in the Oregon House of Representatives while in college and as a Senate Committee Administrator and lobbyist years later. After Willamette he attained a marketing focused master’s degree from the Thunderbird Global School of Management.
Brian went on to hold key positions with the California Department of Health, the U.S Department of Agriculture and national and multistate trade associations including the nationally renowned Five a Day for Better Health campaign. He returned to Oregon and has had a 25-year record of success at the state and local levels that have been well-informed by taking on unique opportunities and applying gained knowledge to new situations. Brian believes strongly in relationships, honest work, and determination. He knows how to find allies – sometimes in unusual places – and accomplish shared goals.
Brian looks forward to new challenges and works passionately for FocusPoint’s clients. It should be noted that he also enjoys a good craft beer (whether home-brewed or Oregon made) and an entertaining golf game. He is also an enrolled member of the federally recognized Blackfeet Tribe.
The Blackfeet people have lived in northern Montana and Canada for over 10,000 years and have a rich history in the plains region of North America.
